A headline in one of the local newspapers said it all, “SCOTTISH HERITAGE FESTIVAL GETS RAVE REVIEWS” – and the article went on to quote a festival goer who said, “……People here have a good advantage because they would have had to go a long way to find games of this quality……"
Our Sixth Festival was an unqualified success and even the late afternoon shower didn’t dampen spirits. There were a record number of competitors; the workshops attracted lots of participants and the exhibitors, clans and vendors reported a steady stream of people all day. The entertainment was extraordinary, not only at the ceilidh but during the day and at the evening concert as well; and the golfers had a fun day on the links at Pete Dye.
None of this would have happened without the dedication of the incredible committee that works year round to put the weekend together – and the valued sponsors who support those efforts so generously. To all those folks, our most sincere thanks….we could not have achieved so much so soon without you!
And now we focus on our greatest effort yet – the Seventh Annual Scottish Festival & Celtic Gathering featuring the World Scottish Heavy Athletic Competition – to be held May 2-4, 2008 at Bridgeport City Park. Mark that date on your calendar and plan to join folks from the world around who will gather to witness the world competition and enjoy the world class entertainment and exhibits. Check this website for continuing updates on this special event!
